Initiatives

We will be working to bridge the gap between landowners and the state to secure funding for habitat maintenance and to launch our newest initiative to help landowners and tribal leaders with the bison population, provide financing for rescues and sanctuaries, promote health research, and provide bison education to the public.

Volunteer Opportunities

There will be plenty of opportunities to volunteer with our organization as we move into warmer weather. Families will start heading outdoors to enjoy the lakes, campgrounds, and hiking trails. We will be looking for volunteers to perform site cleanup a few times this summer.

We will also need volunteers as we move from summer into fall for public hunting land clean-up. We will be working to ensure that public hunting land campgrounds are clean and operational, and that all spent casings and empty shotgun shells are removed from the food plots that deer frequent.

The Bison Initiative

In Oklahoma, we are known for our Native American population. Many people do not realize that we also have an up-and-coming bison population. We will work with the state's different tribes to supplement funding and provide volunteers to help them manage their bison herds.

We will be working with landowners to secure rescue locations until more permanent arrangements can be made. Will will provide the funding for these landowners to help care for the bison during their time there.

Finally, we plan to establish a scholarship fund for students who meet the strict requirements and enroll in the programs outlined in the scholarship rules.

Suggestions

Below is a connect with us box. Add your email and reach out to us with your suggestions, projects you would like us to look into, and any habitats that may need additional help due to a lack of funding or workforce. We will be happy to listen to any ideas about habitat preservation.

Coming Soon

Coming soon is a spin-off nonprofit that will focus solely on bison projects. While our current initiative is focused on Oklahoma, we plan to expand our reach and move into a more regional space. We will be reaching out to the Native American Tribes to the north of Oklahoma to offer assistance that is very similar to what we are offering here in Oklahoma.

What We Do

  • Landowner Aggregation & Program Access

    • Recruit clusters of adjacent owners; assemble eligibility packets.

    • Produce simple maps, baseline notes, and group applications.

    • Track milestones to prevent project stalling.

  • Shared Stewardship Planning (Light‑Touch Technical Support)

    • Facilitate neighbor‑level plans for edge, cover, water, invasive control, and fuel breaks.

    • Align activities with agency standards; schedule cost‑effective, coordinated workdays.

  • Habitat Mini‑Grants & Materials (as funding allows)

    • Small grants for seed, trees/shrubs, fencing materials, culverts, or rental equipment.

    • Priority to clustered projects that improve contiguity and wildlife movement.
